First launch
Samba opens a dark workspace: tracklist on the left, timeline in the centre, cuelist on the right, and transport at the bottom.
On this page, Ctrl means Cmd on Mac.

Panels
Section titled “Panels”Turn panels on or off under View:
- Tracklist - tracks and layers
- Track notes and Comments
- Timeline - clips, cues, playhead
- Cuelist - cues on the current track
- Video preview and Player
- Output meters
View -> Layouts has Default, Editing, and Show. Reset layout restores the current preset.
Drag splitters to resize. Dock tabs can be dragged to another slot.
First project
Section titled “First project”- File -> New Project (
Ctrl+N) - Add media with Add -> Add Audio file (or video / image), or drop files on a track
- File -> Save Project (
Ctrl+S) and pick a folder
Samba writes a .samba file and a Media/ folder next to it. See Projects.
