Track settings
Open Track Settings for the selected track (Edit Track Settings…, default Ctrl+T, or the track context menu).
Dialog tabs: Track, Timecode, GrandMA3 Export, PIXERA. Use Apply to save and keep open, or OK to save and close.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Name | Full track name |
| Shortname | Short label (limited length) |
| Generate Random Shortname | Builds a shortname from the current name |
| BPM | Manual BPM; leave empty for automatic BPM from the source layer |
| Tap | Tap tempo (at least 2 taps; resets if you pause longer than 2 seconds) |
| BPM source layer | Layer for automatic BPM (or auto first audio/video with media) |
| Beat grid offset (ms) | Shifts the beat grid in milliseconds |
| Bar phase (beats) | Bar phase in beats |
| Track list color | Colour in the track list |
| Auto set track length | When on, length follows clips, cues, regions, and director shots |
| Track length (s) | Fixed length in seconds when auto length is off |
| Notes | Free-text track notes |
When to use: Set Name/Shortname for setlists and grandMA3 song variables. Tap or enter BPM and adjust beat grid for a locked programming grid. Use auto length for media-driven songs; turn it off for a fixed show length.
Timecode
Section titled “Timecode”| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Timecode enabled | When on, LTC / Art-Net timecode is sent when this track is active |
| Timecode offset (HH:MM:SS:FF) | Track timecode offset |
| Frame rate | Frame rate for this track’s timecode |
| Has striped LTC | Clip carries striped LTC; that channel is routed to LTC out |
| Stripe from Layer | Which layer supplies striped LTC |
| Striped LTC channel | Left or Right |
| Set Framerate + Offset from LTC | Reads framerate and offset from LTC in the media file |
| Override striped LTC with generator | Ignore striped LTC; use Samba’s generator for LTC out |
| Pre-roll (s) | Pre-roll seconds |
| Inpoint / Outpoint | Source in/out (HH:MM:SS:FF or HH:MM:SS:MS) |
When to use: Enable when this track should output show timecode. Use striped LTC when the master is baked into the media; use the generator when Samba owns the clock.
GrandMA3 Export
Section titled “GrandMA3 Export”Per-track targets for grandMA3 file / OSC export and Live Link:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Datapool | Datapool name |
| Timecode Sequence | Timecode sequence number |
| Main Sequence | Main sequence number |
| Sequence notes | Notes stored with the sequence export |
| Page | Page |
| Executor | Executor |
| Timecode Slot (empty=auto) | Timecode slot; empty = auto |
| Timecode pool number (Live Link): | Timecode pool index for Live Link |
| Framerate | 25 fps or 30 fps for export |
| Negative frames | Negative frames value |
When to use: Fill these before Export Timecode Track / Setlist / Main Sequence, or when Live Link needs a specific pool index. Leave slot empty for auto assignment when you do not care which slot is used.
PIXERA
Section titled “PIXERA”| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Enable PIXERA Live Link for this track | Continuous push of cue time, name, notes, and colour while connected |
| PIXERA timeline | Timeline on the connected PIXERA system (or none) |
| Status | Connected with timeline count, or not connected |
Hint on the tab: connect in Connections -> PIXERA first. While Live Link is on, Samba pushes cue edits to the selected timeline. Linked cues stay matched after rename.
When to use: Enable for tracks that must stay live with a PIXERA timeline during programming. Leave off for tracks that only use CSV import/export.
See PIXERA Live Link and Connections - Pixera.
